G.V.: One and a half months ago I was giving the last seminar of the four year course for the Italian group. And at a certain moment one of the doctors went into a panic state. They called me to go there. She was lying on a couch. I will describe her state to you, because it is very recent and I will be able to describe it very clearly.
Well, there was a young woman, about 30 years old, a medical doctor, in a state of panic. There were five or six other doctors around her. They did not know what to do. She was lying there, trembling, trembling all over her body, and one could say she was in a state of contraction. The doctors were around her and were saying to my secretary: “Bring a dose of Gelsemium!” I said: “Wait, wait a moment.”
When you have such cases, it is best to first calm down. You are not supposed to lose your mind, because once you lose your mind you will see Gelsemium and all the other trembling remedies etc. I said to her: “What do you feel?”
I needed an interpreter, because very few of the Italians understand English. They asked her the question. She was lying there, shaking and gasping. I kept asking: “What do you feel? Can you tell me?”
A friend of hers, another doctor, said: “Calm down! Now George is here. Don’t be afraid. George is here!” Everybody was talking to her like that. But it did not matter to her at all that I was there. It was very clear: when someone is in such a state, you can forget about trying to calm him down.
