RESONANT FREQUENCY

Figure 6: A graph demonstrating the relationships between the resonant frequency and harmony. At the resonant frequency, the energy or force of the system is maximized in a state of harmony. The farther one deviates from the resonant frequency, the more dis- sonance occurs with a simultaneous decrease of energy.

own resonant frequency, but the resulting activity of the whole will not be readily recognizable to our senses. This does not mean that outside vibrations are having no effect, but merely that the effect is not detect- able to our senses.

Now, considering the vital force of the human organism in terms of electrodynamic vibrations obviously involves a tremendous degree of complexity. The resultant vibration of such a complex organism is undoubtedly highly complicated, changing from moment to moment not only in frequency but also in regularity of frequency and in ampli- tude as well. This is why the vital force level of the human organism is considered the dynamic plane, affecting all levels of the being at once and with varying degrees of harmony and strength. It is a highly com- plex, fluid, flexible, and energetic process, simultaneously responding to and affecting the surrounding environment. Despite this complexity, however, there are laws and principles governing both morbific and therapeutic influences on such a system – laws and principles which are grounded in concepts of resonance, harmony, reinforcement, and interference. The whole organism, and any component of it, can be strengthened or weakened depending upon the degree of harmony, resonance, and force of the morbific or therapeutic influence applied to it. Again, this is why it is so important for any practitioner of “energy medicine” to clearly comprehend the fundamental laws and principles involved in such influences.

The Defense Mechanism

When the organism is exposed to a stimulus, whether morbific or
