Vertigo: by which is meant all states of dizziness, not merely the spe- cific allopathic definition of “vertigo.”

Head: including all kinds of headaches, as well as eruptions, condi- tions of hair, swellings, etc. “Head” describes specifically the scalp region, excluding the face and neck.

Eye Vision Ear Hearing Nose

Face:    including outer lips of mouth.

Mouth: including mucous membranes, gums, tongue, and palate, as well as speech as a function.

Teeth

Throat: including esophagus, pharynx, tonsils, and uvula.

External Throat: which is a separate chapter at the end of the section of Throat; this includes the anterior tissues of the neck.

Stomach: including all references to appetite, thirst, and food cravings and aversions (which are general symptoms, even though listed as part of a local region). Food Aggravations, however, are listed in Generalities.

Abdomen: including regions of “Hypochondrium” (below the ribs and above the umbilicus), “Hypogastrium” (literally, “below the stomach, but considered below the navel, “lleocecal,” “Crest of Ilium,” “Inguinal” (groin), “Sides,” Liver, Spleen, and Um- bilicus.

Rectum: including all references to its function. Diarrhea and consti pation are listed under Rectum, while specific qualities of stool are listed separately.

Stool: qualities of the stool itself. Therefore, diarrhea would be found under Rectum, while “watery stool” is found under Stool.

Urinary Organs

Bladder: including Urination and Urging to Urination.

Kidneys Prostate Gland

Urethra: both male and female.

Urine: specific qualities of the urine itself.

Genitalia
