A New Model For Health And Disease – Page 156

In addition, society’s views on homosexuality fifteen to twenty years ago were much more conservative. Male homosexuals did not have the opportunity to freely indulge in sexual practices (communal baths, gay bars, etc.); therefore, the potential for frequent infections was much less.
It appears that most of the time the human organism has the ability to recuperate and regain its balance if it is not grossly damaged by repeated assaults with extreme drug doses. Some organisms will take longer to recuperate than others, and it is only a small percentage that will not recover from the assault if a drug-free period is allotted to re-establish balance. Due to repeated attacks of venereal infections, many homosexuals did not give their immune systems a chance to recuperate. An extensive explanation of this idea has already been given in the preceding chapters of this book.
2. How can we explain the fact that except for homosexuals and promiscuous heterosexuals, the next most highly involved AIDS group has been Haitians?
There has been some confusion concerning this issue because researchers tried to find a specific impediment in the Haitians’ immune system that would account for the "high-risk" position of this group. The answer to this quandary according to my hypothesis seems to be much simpler than originally thought.
The largest male homosexual populations are located in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. As with all social groups with a religious, ethnic, or in this case, sexual preference, places arise that become the "in spots" for vacations. Haiti was the "in place" to go for many homosexuals. It was close to the U.S., relatively safe, cheap, provided sexual partners, had easy political access and was the ideal place for a casual sexual encounter. As a result, these visitors infected a great number of the indigenous population with their venereal diseases and eventually with AIDS as well. In turn, the local population, including bisexuals, infected the prostitutes who in turn infected other men. All these people consequently had to take enormous amounts of antibiotics, and thereby a situation conducive for the development of the AIDS disease was created. It is at this point that we actually witness the proof of this theory.
