Weakness in the muscles of the back after standing, even for only a short time; painful stiffness on bending backwards.
Red vesicle on the right scapula, very painful to touch.
Tearing jerking in the coccyx; especially during menstruation.
Painful sensation on the inner surface of the scapulae. Ulcerative or bruised pain on the right scapula.
Extremities
The limb symptoms are mostly spasmodic and of a very violent kind, and even slight touch can cause them to recur. ‘Spasmodic distortion of the limbs, throwing him over a distance of two feet.’ The most violent convulsions of the limbs, the patient is thrown into strange positions, etc.
Jerking and trembling of the limbs. Frequent involuntary twitching and jerking in the arms and fingers; of lower limbs.
Most violent tonic spasms, the clenched fingers cannot be opened, neither can the limbs be bent or straightened.
Great weariness in the extremities, even after slightest exertion.
Total loss of muscular power, the muscles refuse to obey his will; the feet refuse to carry him.
Coldness of extremities, with bluish nails.
The left side seems to be more affected than the right; or first left-, then right¬sided symptoms.
Jerking in the left arm, all day; transmitting a jerk to the whole body.
Tonic spasms, arms bent at the elbows, fingers and thumbs clenched.
Complete powerlessness of the arms and fingers; especially after spasmodic attacks.
A sensation of heaviness in the arm when raising it, with violent stitches in the shoulder, so violent that the patient is forced to cry out loud when trying to raise the arm to the head; cannot even move the fingers due to the pain; more frequently on the left side.
Tremor of the hands, with violent pain in the occiput and worse from affections; or with a spasmodic drawing backward of the head.
Veins of the hands enlarged.
