Sensation of soreness, with pressure (or pain, as if one pressed upon a wound) in the pit of the stomach. Sore pain as of a stomach ulcer, with excessive sensitivity to slightest touch.
Cardialgia, after depletion; with acidity of stomach; with sore pain, bloating and pressure after each food and drink; with constant satiety; better on motion, aggravated during rest. ‘Aching in stomach region, like a pressure, always relieved when standing up from sitting, but returning when sitting down again. Spasmodic stomach-ache; squeezing, pinching pain in the pit, with difficult inspiration; obstinate cramps, also after loss of fluids.
Constant sensation of fullness in stomach, not in the least ameliorated by belching; feels always satiated, but is able to eat; eating, however, aggravates. Sensation of fullness after eating ever so little, continuing for along time; he feels as if ‘full up to the throat.’
Very slow and weak digestion, complaints from the least food, especially if it is eaten late in day. ‘The food taken for supper remains undigested in the stomach.’ ‘If she eats supper late she doesn’t digest at all.’ Stomach so weak that it cannot tolerate any food at all; gets indigestion from everything, with flat taste in mouth, fullness in abdomen, fretfulness and headache.
Much gaseous distension of the stomach, painful, sore to slightest touch. After eating, loud belching; drowsiness and inability to work.
Shivering or chill with goose-flesh, or sensation of internal coldness in upper abdomen, after each swallow of drink; renewed on every inspiration.
Cold feeling in stomach is a well-confirmed China symptom.
Rumbling, especially in epigastrium.
Violent pulsation in the pit of the stomach, perceptible and visible, with pressure, heaviness and fullness in the stomach, and with nameless feeling of anxiety there.
Abdomen
Excessive and obstinate flatulent distension of the whole abdomen (Carbo vegetabilis prefers the upper part, Lycopodium the lower), very full and tense, as if ‘packed full’ or ‘stuffed’, hard, even tympanitic abdomen, especially after eating. ‘Sometimes it seems as if the food all turned to gas’ (Nash). ‘Distended, bloated abdomen immediately after eating; and the more fullness, the more appetite and craving for different foods’ (cured case of
