Celle Seminar I, Case 15: Forgetfulness/Depression

depression lifts more and more, until night when they go to bed. Then the aggravation starts all over again.
The Magnesias ait also very tired in the morning. You will see more of a physical tiredness, an indescribable tiredness in the morning where the whole body looks as if it were beaten up. They wake up and nothing moves. It is as though they had not only worked, but even overworked the whole night long. Their muscular system is totally exhausted and, at the same time, painful. They do not have a bad psychological state, instead the emphasis is on the physical body.
These were just a few examples of how we differentiate tiredness and irritability in the morning. Now, who has something to add to this case? What other information has she given?
(A.9): She did not want to do her housework. She did not want to speak to anyone in the morning.
(G.V.): Eventually, in order to differentiate between these remedies, we have to go to some of the peculiar symptomatology typical for Nitricum acidum. One of its peculiarities is that it has a strong desire for fat. She immediately provides us with the information that she too has a strong desire for fat. In regard to temperature, Nitricum acidum is rather on the cold side, while she is someone who is aggravated by cold. But that’s okay. Even though she perspires profusely, that’s okay. Nitricum acidum’s perspiration can be very offensive, and we see that she has some offensive perspiration. Nitricum acidum also has brittle nails and nails which are ingrown. Now it should become clear that I wasn’t inquiring about Silicea when I asked about ingrown toenails, I was after Nitricum acidum. So, the remedy was confirmed again and again. We have here in front of us a case of Nitricum acidum.
There was another possibility that we did not discuss at all, in fact, nobody even mentioned it. It’s a remedy that you might have been justified in considering if we hadn’t seen all these confirming symptoms of Nitricum acidum. What is this remedy?
(A. 10): Calcarea phosphorica.
(A.ll): Graphites.
