Celle Seminar I, Case 1: Epilepsy/Asthma

(G.V.): What was the change? How was sexual intercourse before versus after your operation?
(F.P.): Intercourse is painful now. I’ve dried out. I wish it were different.
(G. V.): Is the desire there? (F.P.): No, the desire is gone.
(G.V.): Was the desire great before, or was it a normal desire? (R.P.): Normal, yes.
(G.V.): Did you like to have sex more than once a week? (P.P.): Perhaps twice a week. (G.V.): The desire was never too high?
(F.P.): I think I’ve always acted with some restraint, with some resistance.
(G.V.): But you enjoyed sex? (RR): Yes.
(G.V.): Do you have any fears? (F.P.): In what respect?
(G.V.): Are you experiencing palpitations now? (F.P.): No, I’m calm now, but I did feel palpitations earlier on. It’s probably just from before when I was all uptight. (G.V.): Have the palpitations returned? (P.P.): No.
(G. V.): Are you trying to control yourself, to present yourself in a certain way?
(P.P.): Earlier on, when I was shaking, I was trying to control myself, but not now. (G.V.): Are you calmer now? (P.P.): Yes.
(G.V.): I don’t want to control you, you can act naturally. There is no reason to be afraid.
(P.P.): I understand, but of course the strange atmosphere makes it difficult to act naturally at first.
(G.V.): We are talking about fears. Do you have any particular fears, like fear of the dark or fear of being alone in the house, fear of animals, fear of high places, fear of diseases?
