Celle Seminar I, Small Remedy: Adonis Vernalis

some significant peculiarities which would indicate one particular remedy. For example, we have peculiar symptomatology when we see that the patient has a kind of fainting feeling that comes from the epigastrium. This faint feeling can eventually turn into anxiety and a feeling of fear rises from the stomach. This is very similar to Mezereum and Kali carbonicum. But don’t be mislead: although Kali carbonicum also affects the kidneys and heart, it feels better when resting. And if you have this type of fear rising from the stomach and the patient has a problem with skin disease, then you would consider Mezereum instead of Adonis vernalis. Fear rising from the stomach is often an indication of an arthritic condition, and when it is accompanied by feeling worse from drafts, you should go to Kali carbonicum. Sometimes you may see that the patient has periods of depression as well as periods when his mind does not seem to be functioning properly. In fact, the disturbance can be so great that the patient appears to be drunk. This is due to the fact that his heart is weak and does not function properly.
This is a little remedy, but it is a good one to keep in mind. In the materia medica I am preparing, I’ve given more Adonis symptomatology, so you’ll be able to use it as a reference source.
