(G.V.): You can’t do otherwise in cases like that, you can’t just let her go on in that state. I don’t know to what extent you perceive the state she’s in here, but if you do, then you will be able to recognize similar states immediately in other cases. If you see the case from the outside, intellectualize it, then you cannot really see or feel her tremendous anxiety inside: the fear; the esophagus that is closed up; the inability to swallow solids; that she wants to become a child; that she cannot take responsibilities; that she does not want to grow up; etc.

(F.P.): So I took Calcium, and then I just ended up taking a full tablet
over an hour period, and that made me feel better and I was able to
sleep that night. I never had any problems sleeping, but Wednesday
night I was just always afraid that I could not go to sleep. I was afraid
that there was no escape.
(G.V.): What are you mostly afraid of? Are you mainly afraid of having
a child? Are you afraid of the responsibilities of life in general?
(F.P.): The responsibilities of life in general.
(G.V.): You don’t feel protected enough by your husband?
(F.P.): Sometimes I feel that I am not protected enough by him, and…
(G.V.): Were you protected by your parents?
(F.P.): My mother and I have a very good relationship, but I worry
about being too much of a child. I feel that I’ve had to be baby-sat the
last couple of weeks.

(G.V.): There is no clear picture that you can get in homeopathy, don’t think that things can be clear on that, this is the clearest it can get for a remedy. What is the difference; why wasn’t the therapist able to recognize the remedy? Because she got involved in the fear, in the anxiety, which was overwhelming, and she got anxious herself. She did not sit back and observe what was taking place, this was her biggest mistake in this case. We know that an easy solution might be Phosphorus, or Arsenicum, or Kali arsenicum, or Nitricum acidum. But if you give all these remedies, you might spoil the case; so that eventually the correct remedy would not be effective, even if it were given.
