Figure 21:

CASE VI:

Patient: “I am better, but not really well.” Case: Chief complaint is better without aggravation, no change in energy or men- tal/emotional symptoms. No new symp-
toms.
Interpretation: Remedy close enough but not exact.

Prescription: Look again at original case to see if better remedy. 1) If cannot see a better original remedy, carefully retake the case. If remedy is clear, give it. 2) If no clear remedy upon re-taking the case, wait until new image becomes apparent.

CASE VI:

This case is similar to Case V, but with an important subtle difference. The patient re- ports some degree of worsening of symp- toms on the energy and mental/emotional levels, but the chief complaint has defi- nitely improved. After careful questioning, however, the homeopath discovers that the amelioration of the chief complaint was not preceded by an aggravation.
This amelioration without aggravation, coupled with a somewhat aggravated en- ergy or mental/emotional state, represents an adverse circumstance. The remedy was close, but not exact. An improvement on physical levels combined with a decline on deeper levels means that the remedy has actually decreased the general health of the patient.

It is important to notice the drasti- cally different interpretation in this case compared with Case V, even though the variations are quite subtle. This contrast underscores the importance of accurate re- porting on the part of the patient, and the need for objective evaluation on the part of the prescriber. If a superficial impres- sion were to be followed in such a case, an adverse influence would be allowed to continue unnecessarily. The mistake would become clear only after two or three months, during which time the patient’s health may have deteriorated significantly. The first step in managing such a cir- cumstance is to look very carefully again at the original case. The initial remedy was close, but a better remedy is needed. If the
