CASE V:

Patient: “My main problem is better, but I am still not well.”
Case: Chief complaint better after a brief aggravation, but other major symptoms unchanged

Interpretation: 1) Very likely that deep- er planes were relatively unaffected in the first place. 2) May be early phase of cura- tive response.
Prescription: Wait

CASE V:

Now we can begin to encounter cases in which the interpretation is less clear. The patient reports no change in energy or men- tal/emotional state, but the physical chief complaint shows a definite aggravation fol- lowed by dramatic amelioration.
Such an observation can occur in patients who have no problems with energy or men- tal/emotional states in the first place. There is little to expect on these levels simply because there were no problems to begin with. In the instance in which the patient did have some minor problems on mental/ emotional levels, the change in the physical chief complaint may well be

heralding an improvement on the other levels as well, but not enough time has yet elapsed to observe them. It is always a posi- tive sign if even one of the major indica- tors – chief complaint, energy, or mental/ emotional symptoms – changes favorably. It is furthermore encouraging that the chief complaint improved after an initial aggra- vation.
Even though the patient is not yet com- pletely well, it is important to wait in cases such as this. A curative response is prob- ably underway, and no chances should be taken which might interfere with it.
