Hering’s Law. It is not that there are merely four specific directions of cure; there is in reality only one direction of cure which language can only describe clearly in terms of four specific observations.
In Appendix B we consider a variety of patient responses which can occur within one month after administration of the first remedy. Their interpretation is sometimes a difficult task; much training and expe- rience is required before a homeopath acquires enough knowledge, judgment, and skill to arrive at a correct interpretation. Nevertheless, I attempt to describe the most common examples which are seen in daily practice. Of necessity, only vague terms can be used to describe a phenomenon which is actually quite specific; it is hoped that even such generalities will provide the homeopathic student with a framework within which he or she can accurately interpret patients’ responses to medicines.
