important region is at the pinnacle of the central mental/spiritual level, which has no correspondences on the emotional or physical planes. The least important region is at the bottom of the outer (physical) enve- lope, which has no correspondences on the emotional or mental levels. In this way, it can readily be seen that each level is reflected to some extent upon the others, and there is always a dynamic interaction be- tween all levels simultaneously. Any stimulus or any change on one level simultaneously affects the others to a greater or lesser degree, depending upon the center of gravity of the disturbance at any given moment.

Figure 4: Illustration of the change in center of gravity in a case involving alternating correspondences of emotional and physical levels. At point 1, the patient presents the prescriber with a totality of symptoms with center of gravity on the emotional level. After treatment, the center of gravity moves to the physical level at point 2. With further treat- ment, the center of gravity again shifts back to the emotional level, point 3, but at a lower level of correspondence. Then, as treatment progresses, the center of gravity again moves peripherally to point 4 and finally point 5 before the patient is fully cured.

To clarify this concept, let us take a detailed case example (Figure 4). If we have a psychotic patient who complains of a great many fears and suicidal depression, we see that the center of gravity of disturbance is on the emotional plane. In taking the case history, it becomes evi- dent that there are other symptoms affecting the physical level as well, but to a much lesser degree. The patient is treated successfully, and the psychotic state diminishes considerably. After six to nine months, however, neurological symptoms such as diplopia, muscular twitching
