When I see a case like this, with all the pressures and information and everything else that has to be taken into consideration, my mind constantly churns over each little detail. I can’t always take everything into consideration, because that would be too time-consuming; but by using the computer as a supplementary tool I am able to reflect on some aspects that I otherwise might have missed. Even when using the computer, I look for and rely on hints taken directly from the repertory. Where else can you find information? If you rely on the repertory, you do not need to learn all the nuances of each remedy by heart. So, the purpose of the repertory is to help refresh your memory on details as well as serve as an important reference source.
Now about this child. When I read the report I thought that Phosphorus would be a good prescription. What else do you need for a Phosphorus diagnosis? For those of you who thought of Phosphorus, it would be a justifiable remedy in this case. I went through different symptoms in order to find out if there is really a change in the child, because his parents didn’t accept any change. This is a difficult case, with little symptomatology to go on. What would the child say if the remedy had brought about some improvement? That his fear of the dark is less, that he no longer needs to climb into bed with his parents. So, our problem here is evaluating whether the remedy has been effective or not. What do I find out concerning Phosphorus in this case? Only that Phosphorus does not exactly fit him. But let’s say that Phosphorus is prescribed and does not work, then we would be forced to look further. Why doesn’t Phosphorus fit?
(A.l): He has hardly any contact at all with other children. In fact, he has only one friend to whom he’s very attached. He played a long time on his own and with that one little girl, otherwise, he doesn’t have contact with many people.
