Celle Seminar I, Case 10: Neurodermatitis

(G.V.): You never gave Graphites?
(Therapist): No, I thought about it. I talked with a colleague, and he said I should give Natrum muriaticum first. (G.V.): How is the itching? Is it constant? Strong? (Mother): When he scratches, he scratches something terrible. But he doesn’t do it all the time; he only does it when he thinks he has to do something that he does not want to do, or when he is under some kind of stress, or when he is bored, and when he is tired.
(G. V.): Does he scratch when he gets warm in bed? (Mother): Especially then. (G. V.): Does he salivate a lot? (Mother): Moderately.
(G. V.): You said »after a vaccination.« After what type of vaccination?
(Mother): Tuberculosis and then the triple vaccination. (G.V.): Did he have a tuberculosis test after that to see if he was sensitive? (Mother): No.
(G.V.): Does the baby grind his teeth in his sleep? (Mother): Yes, he does. (G.V.)-.Alot?
(Mother): No. He doesn’t do it when he’s asleep, he does it during the day.
(G. V.): Does the baby sleep in the same room with you or in an adjacent room?
(Mother): Until a month ago he slept in the same room with me, but not anymore.
(G.V.): If he had been grinding his teeth in his sleep, would you have been able to hear it? (Mother): I think so.
(G. V): Is there discharge from the eczema, or is it mostly dry? (Mother): It produces a bit of fluid all the time. (G. V.): Is this fluid sticky? (Mother): Yes, it’s sticky. (G. V.): And what color?
