sidered here were her fears—fear of violence—and the strong and abrupt explosion of the physical symptoms when the psychic became agitated.
Stramonium is, in my opinion, an unorthodox prescription. Stramonium can be very sweet, it doesn’t have to be aggressive outside. Instead of being violent himself, the Stramonium person can have a fear of violence being directed against him. We have discussed this element before, which can appear very sensitive and very vulnerable to external influences.
(A.30): Why do you think Pulsatilla is so mild? It’s because she is afraid of violence that she became so mild. If her parents were very violent, she would be very afraid of violence. Now she has cancer and is very sensitive and afraid of violence.
(G.V.): You could say Pulsatilla in this respect, but then you could also name any one of a number of other remedies. One group of remedies that also has a fear of violence are the Magnesias. These are very peaceful remedies; they do not want violence in any sense at all. As I have said before, in Pulsatilla we can also see violence. But here we have an exaggerated fear of violence. I have seen this quite strongly in Stramonium.
The main problem for me here is when to give the first remedy and in what potency? My preference in prescribing would be Stramonium first, then I would try Pulsatilla, and then Carcinos-inum. If Pulsatilla acts, then I would think of Silicea after that; if it does not act I would go to Carcinosinum instead of Silicea, and from there you can go on to anything. This is the series of remedies that I would consider prescribing in this case. Still, I would like to wait, perhaps two more months, to find out how she is doing, how she is developing after radiation and chemotherapy.
(A.31): There is probably not much time to wait because she has one of the most malignant sorts of tumors. (G.V.): Well, I would like to see the symptomatology come in first. I would like to see something developing—the direction the organism will actively take—before I try the remedy. But at the moment I am afraid that you will be confused in evaluating the
