Celle Seminar I, Case 8: Psoriasis

Case 8: Psoriasis

INTERVIEW

(Therapist): This is a female patient born in 1947. She has psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis of the hands and feet. She suffers from sleeplessness, is exhausted, has very bad migraines, and for the last five years, she has also had thrombophlebitis. She has had psoriasis more or less since she was nine years old. As a child, she had measles, small pox and rubella. She was vaccinated against polio, diphtheria and pox. She has had arthritis in her hands and ankles since she was seventeen. She has had approximately eight years of Cortisone therapy, both external and internal, which began sometime during the sixties. (G. V.): Is she still taking Cortisone?
(Therapist): No. She received Sepia from a homeopath, but it had no effect. She changed over to another homeopath, and he gave her Rhododendron. This remedy must have been successful because she no longer has to take anti-rheumatics for her ankles. (G. V.): She also has psoriatic arthritis.
(Therapist): Yes. In 1959, she had an appendectomy, and in 1987, a duodenal ulcer. She was married in 1967. In 1971, her son was born. She became pregnant after having slept with her husband for the first time. She did not sleep with her husband for the first three years of their marriage. She married him primarily because he accepted her skin disease and because he was something of a father-figure. Later, after the birth of her son, she developed an interest in sex and had a love affair, from which she was badly disappointed. Other love affairs followed. She came here today with her boyfriend. (G. V): Is she still married?
(Therapist): They are separated now. She lives alone with her son. She has palpitations at night and is afraid. When she is afraid, running around makes her feel better. Sometimes she feels that she is unreal, that she does not contact with the floor. She
