Celle Seminar I, Case 5: Myelogenous Leukemia

went back later on, and I asked how he feels when he falls asleep. It’s only been three days. But it’s not the three days that I am interested in; instead I would like to know about the last few months. Has he been aggressive in that time? No. I do not jump easily to conclusions, because I like to feel satisfied that the information I receive and work with has been put together properly and that I have understood the problem in depth.
(A.24): There are a lot of Lycopodium symptoms.
(G.V.): Lycopodium is not as aggressive a remedy as he appeared to be. Lachesis is a snake, he will attack like lightening. Lachesis’s tongue is quite sharp. If you remember, I asked him what time is the worst for him, and he answered, noontime and afternoon. Then I asked when he felt best, and he answered that from 4:00 p.m. onwards he begins to feel better. Again we do not have, apart from the desire for sweets in Lycopodium, any key¬note symptomatology. Physical examinations present a difficult problem in situations like this; you just have to perceive whatever you can from what you see. For all those who could not see it, there is an enormous swelling on the left-hand side. Ceanothus has this enormous spleen as a characteristic. Of course, I asked myself, could this also be other remedies? Is this Nux vomica or Arsenicum or Sulphur or Sepia} My mind was constantly shifting to incorporate what I was hearing. The moment he began talking about his father I perceived the aggression inside, which he did not want to talk about. And then I went back and I saw other sorts of aggressiveness. I felt I had been attacked. I don’t know if you felt it, but I was there. In this case, although I usually react very sensitively, I also became aggressive in order to break through, to make him aggressive. I thought, if I can make him
