George Vithoulkas

(G.V.): And what happened over the last three days? Were you anxious, restlessness, or what?
(M.P.): I don’t know exactly. I kept looking for a reason behind my irritation, but 1 couldn’t find any. (G.V.): Do you eat fruit? (M.P.): No.
(G.V.): Don’t you like fruit? (M.P.): I like fruit.
(G.V.): You like fruit but you don’t eat it? (M.P.): Yes.
(G.V.): Because of your special diet? (M.P.): Yes, it’s too »yin«. (G.V.): What kind of fruit do you like best? (M.P.): All sorts of fruit.
(G.V.): Is there any one fruit that you like the best? (M.P.): I love all fruit. It tastes wonderful. (G.V.): But you are not allowed to eat fruit now? (M.P.): I’m allowed to, but I don’t anymore. (G.V.): What about lemons?
(M.P.): I don’t eat lemons either; they’re also too »yin«. (G.V.): But do you like them, have a desire for lemons? (M.P.): No, not particularly. I used to drink lemonade, and I remember that I used to like to eat the pulp of the lemon after it had been squeezed. Generally I like food and different flavors. (G.V.): Okay, thank you. (M.P.): Thank you.

ANALYSIS

(G.V.): This is a very interesting case. It is one of those cases in which you hardly see a single symptom. The one big symptom is the swelling of the spleen. As you saw, the interrogation was a little bit difficult. Why was it so difficult? What was taking place?
(A.l): I think you were like his father: you were here to judge him. I think you represented his father.
