Celle Seminar I, Case 5: Myelogenous Leukemia

(G. V.}: What’s your explanation? Why did you take the drugs in the first place?
(M.P.): Because I was curious.
(G.V.): You were curious to see how you would feel? (M.P.): To see what would happen.
(G. V.): But once you’d already taken it and seen what happened, why did you take it again? It was not only out of curiosity; there must have been some pleasure connected with it as well. (M.P.): Yes, it was pleasurable, and acid made a big impression on me.
(G.V.): What sort of impression? Spiritual impression? (M.P.): Your visual perception changes, the earth moves, you get a feeling as if you were a child, open to everything. Everything began to come into place. (G.V.): Was it a spiritual experience? (M.P.): No.
(G.V.): Were you connected with a guru or with spiritual things? Did you read spiritual things, or was it just pure scientific interest?
(M.P.): For me it was more a scientific than a spiritual interest. (G. V.): Did you write down your experiences? Did you keep a diary of your experiences?
(M.P.): No, I would have liked to try it, but it’s too late now. One difficulty is that you lose your concentration when you’re on a trip. It is very hard to write your feelings down, they’re fleeting. (G.V.): You took LSD several times between the ages of twenty-two to twenty-five?
(M.P.): Yes, if that’s what you want, yes. (G.V.): If I want it?
(M.P.): I didn’t write it all down in a diary: »At ten o’clock in the morning I took-«
(G.V.); Yes, but you’re the one who took it, not me. I cannot remember for you. I can only go on what you tell me. (M.P.): I can only tell you approximately.
