does not work, for whatever reasons, then I’m lost, I do not know what else to do. I would then have to turn to antibiotics because she is already too late in seeking treatment: from bronchitis to pneumonia, and from pneumonia to double pneumonia; it’s a case that progresses too fast. You can’t play around. I asked the practitioner to phone me the next morning and give me a follow-up. This is now the next morning:

(Therapist): She took the remedies one hour apart, and during the night she was able to sleep for two hours, which was much more than she had any of the previous night; she’d slept maybe a half hour at the most. What she was saying is that now, (his afternoon, she is able to lie down for fifteen, twenty minutes at a time. She wasn’t exactly lying down, but also she just couldn’t sleep before that. I don’t think she was lying down totally, but she said that she could lean a little more. And then she woke up this morning feeling quite cheerful and brought up a lot more – you know she has this loose cough in the morning – but it was much more this time, still yellow-green and thick. So she was feeling better. And her temperature, which had been hovering around 102-103, was down to 100, but not all the way down. She was somewhat better, but then over the morning and by 3:00 p.m. she was relapsing: the temperature rose again…

(G.V.): This is what I’m expecting: an action of the remedy that enables her to sleep and to lie down more than she could up until now. But because of the severity of the acuteness, we also have the possibility of an early relapse. For this reason we may have to repeat a high potency. She received 1M, 10M, and 50M potencies, if they were properly potentized. Nevertheless, we do have the possibility of a relapse, and she does appear to be relapsing. Moreover, this relapse will really show whether the remedy is correct or not. And since there is a relapse, the only thing that we can do at this point is to repeat the remedy. Why should it be repeated? Because the relapse is too fast; she relapses already the next morning. Initially the remedy caused the fever to sink and brought the cough up as soon as the next morning. So I said okay, repeat the remedy. You take a chance here, but most probably this is the right decision. Still, you are taking a chance because there might already be a change in remedy. In my analysis I said
