Materia Medica Viva Volume 7 – page 1504

I have observed an interesting trait in Cannabis users (it is a strong impression although I am not sure that the observation is entirely correct): the individuals who have taken this drug repeatedly and in considerable doses seem to become more gullible, and easily persuaded, especially on spiritual matters. They easily follow gurus who might even be obviously false, but these users find nothing wrong with them, and they will explain away any strange or even criminal actions of the guru. It seems as if the mind has become more receptive to any nonsensical ideas, in a word more obedient.
It has lost its initiative and driving force for attaining anything and can become easily submissive, yielding and in general, a compliant follower, easy prey for gurus of all types, whether spiritual or political. They seek out easy ways and a nice life of ease and pleasure without worries or responsibilities. I therefore believe that Cannabis has done a great ‘service’ to those forces that ‘govern’ the planet by making the users accept anything, not resisting, but at the same time it has done a great deal of harm to the users – by weakening their logical capacities and faculties of judgment, and by diminishing their sanity.
As their driving forces are diminished, these individuals are disinclined to work, feeling incapable of performing their duties. Their pattern is to do a little work, perhaps potter about the house, then to go and lie in bed for a while, then to get up and do a little more, and so on. They are reluctant to go out, but, if coerced, they feel better in the open air.
Sexuality
Cannabis also produces an excess of sexual passion (however, with all of the problems of ‘realisation’ mentioned above), but it can also have the opposite effect, creating indifference and even aversion. In the mentalized or ‘type one’ Cannabis patients we usually see a very strong desire for sex. In maintaining control it seems that their energy shifts and becomes concentrated in the sexual sphere.
