Weak memory
These patients may suffer from sudden and periodical weakness of memory for what they are about to do. They stumble when speaking and misplace words. While busily engaged thinking, thoughts vanish.
This remedy is specially useful in broken-down constitutions from drunkenness. It covers weakness of mind, of memory and of body.
Further characteristics of this remedy include: dulness of the senses; tormenting, persistent thoughts; timidity, bashfulness and apprehension and extremely wearisome in conversation; aversion to mental and physical work; real indolence. Onanism and sexual excesses reduce the economy to a state whereby they feel their constitutional disturbance, and this is one of the remedies that elevates the body to a better state of order in such conditions.
Generalities
While the patient is cold in general, he often requires to be uncovered. However heat does relieve in certain complaints: in croup and in headaches he feels too hot but the pain is often relieved by heat. The pains of the body are often relieved by heat. He is sensitive to both cold and heat. Complaints come on after becoming cold. Tendency to take cold easily if exposed to drafts. He is sensitive to cold and wet weather.
Calc-sulph. patients suffer from acute and chronic rheumatism; standing makes the pains in the joints worse.
They suffer with flushes of heat, worse from being overheated. Flushes of heat during dinner; while eating.
Weakness when waking in the morning from a dream; from 10am – 12pm;
lassitude in the afternoon.
This remedy is especially useful in broken down constitutions from drunkenness.
Worse from drafts, touch, cold, wet, warm rooms, warm coverings, warmth of the bed and from getting warm. Worse at night from 9pm – 5am. Complaints from suppression of perspiration, from onanism or sexual excess.
Better in the open air, from bathing, eating, local heat and uncovering.
