CAPSICUM ANNUUM (caps.)
— More often men than women.
— 2 STAGES—which have common and opposing character-istics.
— Type is obese, flabby, redness in face and.especially nose. Drunkards nose and face (similar Aeculus). The flabbiness is unique—very thick, feels stomach is a sac without any fibre, least food blows it up, can put on 10 kg. in 1 week— may confuse with Kali bich.
— Low vitality, easily tired, feel cold, get obese (Calc. carb.— which will make more obese and increase appetite, easily confused; Ferrum met; white with pale cheeks.)
— Very sensitive, feel easily insulted, insecure without social relationship, not withdrawn like Nat. mur., tries to be more sociable to hide insecurity.
— NOSTALGIA—** emotions go back to past events with such force that it overtakes the whole person and he thinks he will die—can’t stand it. Lives totally in the past.
— If away from home, has to go back home.
— Guilt, fear of police though they have done nothing (Nat. carb., Merc.)
— When reaches point where can’t tolerate past emotions, he switches off completely, and "Can’t" or won’t remember, no feelings left. This is not the indifference of Phos. ac. or the dead feeling of Carbo veg.
— Tremendous feeling of anxiety always there (hidden). Has to accomplish something, but the mind is dull, and anxious because cannot accomplish what he has to do.
— Feels exposed to the insults of others.
SLEEP: fired, falls asleep immediately. Wakes after 3 hours and overtaken by anxiety and insecurity. Stays awake 2 hours, then falls asleep again until late morning.
IN SECOND STAGE
— Desire for stimulation which < -coffee, beer, whisky, pepper,
salt, but does not crave.
